CHBC, Neoga, WSS, BSE, Altamont Win At NTC vs. CIC Shootout

ALTAMONT -- Brownstown/St. Elmo was a 46-35 winner over Central A&M in the sixth game of the National Trail Conference vs. the Central Illinois Conference Girls Basketball Shootout Saturday.
BSE edged out to a 13-12 opening quarter lead behind Seabaugh's eight points. She connected on her 1,000th career point with her second basket in the quarter.
The lead went to 24-20 at halftime. BSE then had a 10-8 third quarter as Dayana Haslett nailed a three-pointer. Haslett then connected on four of four free throws in the final quarter 12-7 run.
Seabaugh tallied 14 points on seven baskets in the contest. Also in double figures were Haslett with 13 and Madi Miller with 10.
In the opening game of the day, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City defeated Warrensburg-Latham, 48-42.
CHBC edged out to a 12-10 opening quarter lead. Macee Rodman went on a tear with 10 of her team's 12 points.
Warrensburg-Latham came back with a 9-7 edge that tied the score at 19-19 at halftime.
The Bobcats came back with an 11-4 third quarter run to lead 30-23 going into the final period. Rodman put in five of those points while Haley Doty hit a three-pointer.
Warrensburg-Latham then had a 19-18 edge but couldn't overcome that 11 point third quarter by CHBC.
Rodman finished with 15 points on five field goals, two of those from three-point range, and three of four at the line. Baya Fingo and Ruby Stuckemeyer chipped in with eight each.
Warrensburg-Latham's Brenna Dutcher tallied 33 points on 12 field goals, four three-pointers, and was five of six at the line.
The second contest was a junior varsity game as Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City defeated Altamont, 51-38.
Altamont held a 20-17 halftime lead but CHBC came back with a 14-8 third quarter to pull ahead then had a 20-10 final period.
Ines Saez-Ferrer led with 19 points for CHBC while Haley Doty added 13. Altamont was led by Sophia Pearcy with 10.
Neoga captured a 71-65 victory over Vandalia in the third contest.
Four players connected for double figures in the win. Atalie Osborn hit four baskets and was 10 of 12 at the ine for 18 points. Brynn Richard added 17 while Allison Sampson and Haylee Campbell added 14 each.
Vandalia took an 18-13 opening quarter lead but Neoga came back with a 24-13 run to lead 37-31 at halftime.
The score was tied at 53-53 in the third quarter. Neoga then put together an 18-12 final period behind five baskets and six of 10 at the line.
Shelbyville edged Dieterich, 63-60 in overtime in game four.
The Rams held a 17-14 opening quarter lead and led 34-25 at halftime. Dieterich came roaring back with a 22-10 third quarter to pull ahead 47-44.
Shelbyville then knotted the score at 57-57, sending the contest into overtime and won with a 6-3 run.
The Movin' Maroons were led by Miley Britton with 21 points and Ruby Westendorf with 10.
Shelbyville was led by Kenzie Jones with 21 and Dria Clark with 20.
Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg was next on the schedule and tallied a 47-34 victory over Meridian.
Meridian held a 9-8 opening quarterl ead but the Hatchets moved ahead 19-15 at halftime.
Kendra Hayes went on a scoring run in the third quarter after hitting only three free throws through the first half.
She broke loose with three regular baskets and a three-pointer for nine points. Ella Kinkelaar chipped in with five points and the Hatchets held a 36-24 third quarter lead.
WIndsor/Stew-Stras kept the pressure on in the final quarter and pulled out the win.
Hayes finished with 14 points on five field goals, one a three-pointer, and three of four at the line. Katelyn VonBehrns added 10.
Altamont finished out the day with an exciting 53-52 win over Tuscola.
Tuscola pushed ahead 18-13 after the opening quarter behind the scoring of Moss with 10 points and two three-pointers by Boyer.
Altamont then came roaring back with a 21-8 second period to lead 34-26 at halftime.
Five players scored for the Indians. Grace Nelson put in eight points while Brianna Grunloh added five.
The scoring calmed down in the third quarter as Altamont had a slight 11-10 edge.
Tuscola then made a comeback attempt only to fall a point short. The Warriors had a 16-8 run. Boyer put in seven of her team's 16 points.
Nelson kept the Indians going with six of her team's eight final quarter points. She finished with 24 for the game, hitting nine field goals, one from three-point range, and five of six at the line. Also in double figures was Peyton Osteen with 10.
