Junior High Boys Basketball -- Jan. 6

TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis hosted Effingham and East St. Louis Clark in junior high boys basketball Saturday.

The Wooden Shoes won over Effingham, 44-27 in the seventh-grade B game.

T-town opened up a 21-11 halftime lead and had a 23-16 second half against Effingham.

Gus Martin scored 13 for the winners while Grady Jansen added nine.

Effingham was led by Kellen Richmond with eight points.

In the eighth-grade B contest, Effingham claimed a 35-28 win. The Mustangs trailed T-town 17-12 at halftime then came back with an 8-5 third quarter and outdistanced the Shoes 15-6 in the final period.

Deagan Mooney led Effingham with 13 points while James Wendt added nine.

T-town was led by Tyson Brooks with 11.

East St. Louis won over Effingham, 40-15 in seventh-grade play. No statistics listed.

Effingham edged East St. Louis Clark, 34-32 in eighth-grade play. No statistics listed.

T-town when won a seventh-grade game over East St. Louis Clark, 48-24. The Shoes held a 30-14 halftime lead and never looked back.

T-town was led by Kale Goeckner with 17 and Blake Niemerg with nine.

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town was a 41-37 winner over ESL Clark. T-town led 26-17 at halftime and held off ESL Clark.

Jake Probst scored 17 and Eric Weidner 11 for the Shoes.
