Mount Zion edged the Bullpups 28-26 in the seventh-grade contest. The two teams were tied at 9-9 after the opening quarter before St. Anthony moved ahead 17-9 at halftime. The Bullpups held a 21-14 lead after three quarters.
But Mount Zion came back with a 14-5 final quarter to pull out the victory.
Liam McAllaster and Blake Verdeyen led the way with eight points each. The Bullpups dropped to 20-2 on the season.
In the eighth-grade game, Mount Zion stepped out to a 12-6 opening quarter lead and led 18-11 at halftime. Mount Zion had a 13-8 second half for the 31-19 victory.
St. Anthony was led by Cooper Sehy with 10 points. The Bullpups drop to 12-8 on the season.

At Effingham
Effingham split victories with Taylorville in Monday evening action.
Taylorville was a winner in the seventh-grade game, 34-27. Effingham held an 18-14 halftime lead but Taylorville came roaring out after halftime to outscore the Mustangs 16-3 in the third quarter.
Cameron Moon led Effingham with eight points while Kellen Richmond added seven.
In the eighth-grade contest, Effingham edged Taylorville, 31-28.
The Mustangs held an 11-6 opening quarter lead and led 17-10 at halftime. Taylorville came back with an 11-5 third quarter to pull within 22-21.
The Mustangs then had a 9-7 final quarter as Jenner Pals hit a three-pointer and two free throws while Ian Kinkelaar had a basket and a free throw and Carson Fox a free throw.
Pals finished with 19 points on six field goals, three from beyond the three-point line and four of four from the free throw line.
The Mustangs are 13-5 on the season and back in action tonight hosting Effingham Sacred Heart beginning at 6 p.m.

At Charleston
Teutopolis was a winner in both seventh- and eighth-grade play Monday evening over Charleston.
The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade encounter, 38-21. Charleston held an 8-6 opening quarter lead but T-town had a 14-5 second quarter to lead 20-13 at halftime. T-town then had an 18-8 second half run.
Kale Goeckner led the way with 11 points for the Shoes while Sam Probst added nine and Grant Tegeler eight.
In the eighth-grade contest, T-town ripped out to a 22-9 opening quarter lead and led 44-18 at halftime. The Shoes went on for a 64-28 victory.
Jake Probst led in scoring with 17 while Dylan Horn added 13 and Eric Weidner chipped in with 10.

South Central was a winner in both games over Iuka Monday evening.
South Central ran out to a 16-0 opeining quarter lead in the seventh-grade contest and led 28-4 at halftime.
A. Hoover led the winners with 13 points on six field goals and one of two at the line.
In eighth-grade action, South Central took a 13-8 opening quarter lead and led 27-13 at halftime. The squad held Iuka scoreless in the third quarter to push the lead to 35-13 and finished with a 45-21 victory..
D. Gillespie led te winners with 10 points while eight other players scored in the game.

Jasper County fell to Lawrenceville in the Little Eastern Illinois Conference Tournament Monday evening.
Lawrenceville opened with a 14-9 lead. Jasper County tied with a 15-10 second period at halftime.
Lawrenceville then came out to put the game away with a 21-5 third period run..
Brenden Emmerich led Jasper County with eight points. Emmerich was the top rebounder along with Hank Huber and was the top defender.
Matthew Ramirez scored 29 for Lawrenceville.
Jasper County drops to 11-6 on the season in seventh-grade play. The squad will play the loser of the Robinson vs. Paris May contest Wednesday.

North Clay (Louisville) lost to Flora in both games.
Flora won the seventh-grade contest, 49-35 and claimed the eighth-grade game, 47-37.
North Clay is back in action Saturday at St. Elmo in the National Trail Conference Eighth-Grade Tournament against Effingham Sacred Heart.
