NEOGA -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg improved to 8-9 on the season with a 41-35 victory over Neoga Tuesday evening.

The Indians took a 10-7 lead on WSS in the opening quarter behind Trey Sheehan's six points. Gavin Ray nailed a three-point basket.

Windsor/Stew-Stras came back with a 13-10 second period to knot the score at 20-20 at halftime. Five players scored for the Hatchets led by Jackson Gurgel with four of six from the line.

But Windsor-Stew-Stras had a 12-5 third period run to move into a 32-25 third quarter lead and held off Neoga in the final quarter.

Only one player hit double figures for the winners. Connor Manhart led with 10 on two field goals, both from three-point range, and four of five at the line. Gurgel chipped in with nine as a total of six players scored. The Indians improved to 1-1 in the National Trail Conference.

Neoga was led by Sheehan with 14 points on six field goals and two of five at the line. Luke Keller added nine points.

The Indians dropped to 3-12 on the season and 0-4 in the National Trail Conference.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg is back in action Friday at St. Elmo/Brownstown.

At Hutsonville

Two players hit double figures as St. Elmo/Brownstown handed Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville a 69-47 non-conference loss Tuesday evening.

SEB moved into a 23-16 opening quarter lead and led 33-30 at halftime as OPH came back with a 14-10 second period run.

SEB then put the game away with a 26-7 third quarter.

Cade Schaub led the way for the winners with 23 points on 10 of 13 from the field and three of three from three-point range. Adam Atwood added 16 points while Brody Mason chipped in with 12. Atwood led in rebounds with nine and steals with seven. Mason had six rebounds.

SEB hit 52 percent from the feld and 64 percent from the free throw line.

At Paris

Dieterich picked up a non-conference victory over Paris, 64-53 in Tuesday evening action.

The Movin' Maroons moved into a 17-7 opening quarter lead as Lucas Westendorf connected on three baskets for six points and Landen Keck added five points.

The Maroons held a 36-22 halftime lead. Westendorf hit a three-pointer and a regular basket while Caleb Gephart led the way with five points on a three-pointer and a regular basket with a free throw.

Paris had an 18-14 third period run to trail by 10 going into the final quarter. Dieterich finished out with a 14-11 final period.

Three players hit double digits for the Maroons. Westendorf led the way with 15 points on seven field goals, one a three-pointer. Tanner Will and Jaxon Funneman added 12 points each.
