Shelbyville Wins Vandalia Holiday Tourney

VANDALIA -- Shelbyville High School won the championship of the 51st Annual FNB Community Bank Vandalia Holiday Boys Basketball Tournament Friday.

The Rams claimed the title over Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran, 67-44.

Vandalia was the third place winner over Greenville, 57-50. Fifth place went to Nokomis over Macon Meridian 66-60. Flora claimed seventh place with a 75-54 win over Okaw Valley. Pana took the ninth place contest by downing Cumberland, 51-28.

Pana went out to a 13-6 opening quarter lead on Cumberland then held a 25-11 halftime tally.

The Panthers came back with a 26-17 second half.

Worker led the way for Pana with 15 points. The Panthers hit 16 of 20 free throws.

Cumberland was led by Kaleb Bierman with 10 points on four field goals and two of two at the line.
