Dieterich Wins Buzzer Beater in Own Tourney

Dieterich took on  Ramsey in the opening contest and pounded out a 70-31 victory.

The Movin' Maroons took a 27-9 opening quarter lead and had a 23-7 third period run.

Three players finished in double figures for the winners. Landen Keck led the way with six field goals and eight of eight at thefree throw line for 20 points. Caleb Gephart stepped in with 17 points and Lucas Westendorf finished wth 13.

Red Hill (Bridgeport) then downed South Central, 50-39.

Red Hill led 22-13 at halftime and had a 28-26 second half.

Ozzy Ash led the winners wih 24 points while Avery Arbuckle added 12.

South Central was led by Westin Neilson with nine on three trifectas.

In the third contest, Sulivan edged Grayville, 52-49.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City tallied a 74-48 victory over Ramsey in game four. CHBC took a 27-16 opening quarter lead and led 47-15 at halftime.

Four players hit double digits. Kaidyn Calame led the way with 23 points on nine field goals that included three three-pointers and was two of four at the line. Clayton Wojcik added 15, Wyatt Rueff 13 and Gage Lorton 10.

Game five went to Sullivan over Red Hill (Bridgeport), 53-47.

The final game found Dieterich edging Arcola 58-55 when Caleb Gephart hit a three-pointer at the buzzer breaking the 55-55 tie.

Arcola held a 24-22 halftime lead. Dieterich came back with a 19-12 third period run to lead 41-36 going into the final quarter. Arcola came roaring back to tie the score before the buzzer beater.

Gephart finished with 15 points on seven field goals, one a three-pointer. Lucas Westendorf added 14.

The tournament continues today with Grayville againt Red Hill at 11:30, Ramsey taking on Arcola at 1 p.m, Grayville against South Central at 2:30, CHBC facing Arcola at 4, South Central back against Sullivan at 5:30 and Dieterich and CHBC finishing out the evening at 7.
