Altamont Wins, SEB, S. Central Drop Losses In Boys H.S. Basketball

The Indians stepped out to a 27-14 opening quarter lead as Eli Miller hit two three-pointers and a regular basket along with a free throw for nine points. Kade Milleville hit two three-pointers and Alec Jahraus hit from three-point range.
But, here came Marshall. The Lions went on a 21-8 run to tie the score at 35-35 at halftime. Bentley Delp went on a scoring frenzy, connecting on three trifectas, a regular basket and two of two at the line for 13 points.
The scoring slowed down in the second half as Altamont had an 8-4 edge to move ahead 43-39 as Kaden Davis hit a three-pointer.
The Indians kept the pressure on with a 13-12 final quarter as Miller hit a three-pointer and two of four from the free throw line while Milleville knocked in a three-pointer, a regular basket and a free throw for six points.
Altamont had two players in double figures. Miller hit five field goals, three from trifecta land, and three of six at the line for 16. Milleville finished with 13 points.
The Indians improved to 5-3 on the season.

At St. Elmo
St. Elmo/Brownstown took the opening quarter lead but Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran came back to win the game, 66-60 in a non-conference matchup Thursday.
The Eagles held a 21-16 opening quarter lead but CORL came back with a 17-7 second period to lead 33-28 at halftime. Both teams scored 16 points in the third quarter and CORL had a 17-16 final run for the victory.
Two players finished in double figures with Adam Atwood leading the way with 21 points on eight field goals and five of five at the free throw line. Collin Maxey chipped in with 19 points on six field goals, two from three-point range, and five of six at the line.

At Flora
Flora played host to South Central in a non-conference matchup and captured a 42-14 win Thursday evening.
The Wolves stepped out to an 8-0 opening quarter lead and led 23-5 at halftime. Flora then had a 14-2 third period run.
Only one player in the contest finished in double figures. Flora's Neil Young tallied 10 points.
Westin Neilson led the way for the Cougars with eight points. South Centarl is now 7-4 on the season.
