The Mustangs won the seventh-grade game, 25-14. Olney held a 6-5 opening quarter lead but the Mustangs came back to move ahead 13-9 at halftime.
Effingham then had a 12-5 second half run.
Joel Flack led the way in scoring with nine points while Coen Westjohn and Bryden Kade added five each.
In the eighth-grade game, Effingham took an 8-0 first quarter lead and went on for a 40-21 win over Olney.
The Mustangs held a 16-6 halftime lead.
Jenner Pals was the lone Efifngham player in double figures with 19. He connected on nine field goals and was one of two at the line. Ian Kinkelaar chipped in with seven, all in the third quarter.

At Rantoul
Effingham St. Anthony claimed both victories over Rantoul St. Malachy Thursday.
St. Anthony was a 42-25 winner in the seventh-grade contest., taking a 16-5 opening quarter lead and never looking back.
Blake Verdeyen led the way for the Bullpups with 22 points while Charlie Hoene added eight.
In eighth-grade action, St. Anthony trounced Rantoul St. Malachy, 37-5.
Conner Storm tallied 11 points while Kyle Pennington added eight.
St. Anthony held St. Malachy scoreless in the first half to take a 17-0 lead.

At Altamont
Mulberry Grove came to Altamont and handed the homestanders two losses in junior high boys basketball.
Mulberry Grove had a 48-18 win over Altamont in seventh-grade action. Mulberry Grove held a 28-9 halftime lead and never looked back.
Altamont was led by Harris Potts with seven points.
In the eighth-grade encounter, Mulberry Grove edged Altamont, 38-35.
Altamont held an 11-8 opening quarter lead and led 20-15 at halftime. But Mulberry Grove came back with a 23-15 second half for the win.
Altamont was led by two players in double figures. K. Bushue with 15 and Cage with 11.

At Louisville
North Clay (Louisville) captured both victories over South Central Thursday evening.
North Clay claimed the seventh-grade game, 33-30. The winners ran out to a 22-13 halftime lead then had a 17-11 second half.
Lewis led the winners with 12 points.
South Central was led by A. Hoover and J. Smith with 11 points each.
North Clay went overtime to take the eighth-grade contest, 41-35. South Central held a 15-14 halftime lead but North Clay tied at 22-22 in the third quarter.
Both teams then scored 10 points in the fourth quarter for a 32-32 tie, sending the game into overtime.
Grant Probst scored five and Cooper Lewis four in the overtime to give North Clay the 41-35 win.
Probst finished with 17 points while Lewis added 10.
South Central was led by C. Cartright with 11 points.
