St. Michael, Teutopolis Reach 8th Grade State Tournament

Sigel St. Michael and Teutopolis have reached the 8th grade state girls basketball tournament.

Teutopolis is in the quarterfinals of the 8-3A tournament at Germantown Hills Middle School. The Shoes defeated Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 26-18 to win the Pana Sectional.

Teutopolis will play at 2:30pm Saturday against Pittsfield Pikeland. If they win, they will play again at 6:30pm Saturday.

St. Michael defeated Pana Sacred Heart 42-25 to win the 8-1A Pana Sacred Heart Sectional and improve to 21-0 on the season. The Sharpshooters will play Ottawa Wallace Saturday at 10am at Clinton Junior High School. If they win, they will play at 5pm Saturday. Teutopolis is 18-6 on the season.

In 8-2A sectional championship action at St.Anthony Wednesday, Altamont was defeated by Paris Crestwood, 34-22, to see their season come to an end.
