Girls Freshman/Sophomore Basketball -- Dec. 5

Effingham edged Altamont, 31-30. The Hearts held a 15-9 openimg quarter lead but Altamont came back to move ahead 22-20 at halftime.

Effingham trailed Altamont 28-24 heading into the final quarter and had a 7-2 run to pull out the one-point victory.

Allison Kroenlein led the way for EHS with eight points while Drew Weis added six.

Altamont was led by Justyce Higgs with 16 points.

Olney handed Altamont a 47-30 loss. Altamont took an 11-9 opening quarter lead but Olney moved ahead 25-21 at halftime and held a 34-25 lead going into the final quarter.

Altamont was led by Avery Aldrdige with 13 points and Higgs with nine.
