Neoga, CHBC, T-town, Dieterich, BSE Are Winners In Girls Basketball

The Indians' Brynn Richards connected on two three-pointers in that opening quarter and nailed five regular baskets for 14 points. Haylee Campbell added the other seven points.
The Indians continued on from the 21-9 opening quarter lead to put together a 19-6 second quarter for a 40-15 halftime lead. Richards connected on 10 points in the period.
Richards put together a 31 point game for Neoga, hitting 13 field goals, three from trifecta range, and was two of two at the line. Also in double figures was Haylee Campbell with 15.
The Indians connected on five three-pointers, the three by Richards and one each by Allison Sampson and Gracie Eaton.
South Central was led by Kaitlyn Swift with 16 points on five field goals, two from three-point range, and four of four at the line.
Neoga improved to 6-1 on the season and returns to action today playing host to Tri-County.
Neoga also claimed the junior varsity contest, 17-15.

At Cowden
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City continues to sail along, taking a 62-49 victory over Shelbyville Monday evening.
The Bobcats went on a 16-8 opening quarter run and led 34-20 at halftime. Shelbyville came back with a 13-9 third period but CHBC finished with a 19-16 final quarter.
Macee Rodman led the way for CHBC with 15 points on six field goals, one a three-pointer. Also in double figures was Baya Fingo with 11 points.
Rodman led in rebounds with nine and steals with four. Ruby Stuckemeyer led the way in assists with five and had two blocked shots. Karlee Smith also had two blocked shots.
The Bobcats finished with seven three-pointers in the contest led by Fingo with three.
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City now sports a 6-3 record.

Teutopolis held Pana scoreless in the opening quarter for a 23-0 lead and went on for a 58-24 victory Monday evening.
The Wooden Shoes' Anna Probst scored eight points in that quarter with three baskets that included a three-pointer, and a free throw. Malea Helmink and Mollie Ruholl added six points each.
The scoring slowed down in the second period as Chloe Probst took over with three baskets for all seven of the Shoes points.
T-town had a 28-17 second half.
Four players totaled in double figures for the Shoes. Helmink led the way with 14 points on six field goals and two of five at the line. Ruholl added 13, C. Probst 11 and A. Probst 10.
C. Probst led in rebounds with five. M. Ruholl had four steals. Summer Wall and A. Probst had an assist each.

Dieterich High School tallied a 44-38 victory over North Clay/Clay City in a National Trail Conference matchup Monday.
The Movin' Maroons were led by Miley Britton with 15 points and Brittney Niemerg with eight. Britton connected on five field goals, one from three-point range, and four of five at the line.
Kady Tegeler led the Maroons in rebounds with eight. Ruby Westendorf and Britton had two assists each. Britton led in steals with four and B. Niemerg had three. Westendorf and B. Niemerg had two blocked shots each.

Brownstown/St. Elmo played host to Martinsville and sent the Bluestreaks home with a 59-14 loss Monday evening.
BSE ripped out to a 26-2 opening quarter lead. Lexi Seabaugh scored nine points in the quarter while Dayana Haslett added eight with four field goals. Danika Ramsey hit a three-pointer and a free throw.
Madi Miller led the way for SEB in the second period 14-2 run. Miller hit three field goals for six points. The Bombers led 40-4 at halftime.
Dayana Haslett came back with an 11 point third quarter and finished with 19 to lead the winners. She connected on seven field goals, one a three-pointer, and was four of four at the line. Also in double figures was Seabaugh with 10.

Edawrds County (Albion) handed Newton a 60-51 loss Monday evening.
Edwards County took a 16-8 opening quarter lead and led 30-21 at halftime. The Lions and Eagles played to a 30-30 second half.
Three players scored in double figures for Newton. Camryn Martin led the way with 15 points on six field goals, three of those three-pointers. Also in double figures were Lilly Kessler with 12 and Karasyn Martin with 11.
Camryn Martin led in rebounding with nine and K. Martin pulled down eight. C. Martin and Elley Bennett had three steals each. K. Martin and Bennett led in assists with two each.
Newton drops\ped to 3-4 on the season.
The Eagles are undefeated in junior varsity play after taking a 32-21 victory. Newton is now 4-0.
Newton claimed the junior varsity game, 32-21. The Eagles were led by Grace Schumacher with nine points.
