Junior High Girls Seventh-Grade Regionals -- Nov. 14

Neoga and Sigel St. Michael will square off for the championship of the Class 7-1A Neoga Girls Basketball Regional Tuesday.

Neoga claimed a 40-29 victory over Pocahontas in the first game of the evening.

Sigel St. Michael then downed Ramsey, 26-16.

Neoga, seeded fourth, will now meet second-seeded Sigel St. Michael at 6 p.m. Thursday for the championship.

The winner of the regional advances to the Sigel St. Michael Sectional and will take on the winner of the Pana Sacred Heart Regional at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29.

Pana Sacred Heart and Kincaid South Fork meet at 6 p.m. today for that championship.

 

Class 2A Effingham St. Anthony Regional

Paris Crestwood defeated Casey-Westfield, 28-11 to win the St. Anthony Regional Tuesday evening.

Paris Crestwood moves on to the Casey-Westfield Sectional to face the winner of the Edwards County (Albion) Regional, either South Central or Red Hill (Bridgeport). Those two teams play tonight for the regional championship.

 

Class 3A Marshall Regional

Teutopolis advanced to the championship contest of the Marshall Regional with a victory Tuesday evening.

The Wooden Shoes defeated Lawrenceville Parkview, 34-31. T-town stepped out to a 10-4 opening quarter lead and led 15-11 at halftime. The Shoes then had a 12-8 third period and had to hold off Lawrenceville in the final quarter.

Maggie Drees led the Shoes with 14 points while Grace Martin added seven. The Shoes improved to 21-1 on the season.

In the opener, Paris Mayo downed Marshall, 38-15.

T-town, seeded second, will now face top-seeded Paris Mayo at 6 tonight for the regional championship.

The winner advances to the Teutopolis Sectional Wednesday, Nov. 29 to face the winner of the Macon Meridian Regional, either Sullivan or Tuscola East Prairie.

Class 7-4A Tayloville Regional

Taylorville claimed the championship of its own regional Tuesday evening.

Taylorville defeated Mount Zion, 22-18.

The winner now advances to its own sectional Wednesday, Nov. 29 and will meet the winner of the Quincy Regional. Chatham Glenwood won that regional with a 35-10 victory over Springfield Washington.
