Effingham Junior High School's seventh-grade girls basketball team claimed a 10-6 win over Altamont Monday evening.

The Mustangs led 6-4 after the first quarter and 8-6 at halftime. Only two more points were scored in the final quarter for both teams.

Effingham was led by Abby Johnson with all 10 points.

Altamont was led by Ruholl, Bauer and Burrus with two points each.

In eighth-grade action, Altamont was a 30-21 winner over the Mustangs.

Altamont ripped out to a 16-2 opening quarter lead and never looked back. Kuenstler led the way for Altamont with 14 points while Long added eight.

Effingham was led by Alaina Miller and Emery Spicer with six each.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis downed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in both seventh- and eighth-grade action Monday.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade contest 44-7, stepping out to a 16-0 opening quarter lead and led 26-2 at halftime.

Grace Martin scored 11 points and Addie Caulkins 10 for the Shoes. CHBC was led by Hadley Pope, Harper Lilly and Sophie Zumbahlen with two points each.

In seventh-grade, the Shoes improved to 17-1 on the season.

In eighth-grade competition, T-town swept out to an 11-2 opening quarter lead and tallied a 31-18 victory.

Avery Probst scored 14 points for the winners who are now 12-6 on the seaosn.

Allison Shields led CHBC with eight points.

At Dieterich

Brownstown/St. Elmo was a winner over Dieterich in both seventh- and eighth-grade play Monday evening.

BSE edged Dieterich, 14-13 in the seventh-grade contest.

Claire Faller led Dieterich with six points.

In eighth-grade play, Brownstown/St. Elmo was a 38-16 winner.

Dieterich was led by Allison Boerngen and Ava Niemerg with six points each.
