DIETERICH -- Dieterich High School Eighth-Grade Boys Basketball Round Robin was played Monday evening.

In the opener, Dieterich captured a 36-25 win over Newton St. Thomas.

Dieterich stepped out to an 11-4 opening quarter lead and led 17-9 at halftime and 26-17 going into the final quarter.

Alex Schottman led the way for the winners with 17 points while Bryce Bohnhoff added eight and Ben Schottman seven.

St. Thomas was led by Fulton with 11 points.

St. Thomas then fell by a 33-32 count against Olney St. Joe in the second game.

St. Thomas stepped out to a 9-6 opening quarter lead and led 20-19 at hafltime. Olney St. Joe came back with a 12-4 third quarter to lead 31-27. St. Thomas mounted a 5-2 final quarter comeback only to fall short.

Fulton led St. Thomas with nine points while Barthleme added eight.

Dieterich then won over Olney St. Joe by a 34-16 tally.

Dieterich ran out to a 19-6 opening quarter lead and led 26-13 at halftime.

The winners were led by B. Schottman with 10 points and Bohnhoff with nine.

At Newton

Jasper County picked up two victories over Oblong in Monday evening action.

Jasper County was a 51-23 winner in the seventh-grade contest, taking a 29-13 halftime lead.

Benden Emmerich led the way with 15 points while Chase Kistner and Liam Kinkelaar added 12 each. Emmerich led in rebounds and was the top defender.

In the eighth-grade contest, Jasper County won 64-13, ripping out to a 38-7 halftme lead.

Mack Huber scored 13 points for the winners while Maddox Horner added 12 and Greyson Lingafelter 10. Horner was the top defender while Huber led in rebounds.

Both games were the season openers for Jasper County who is back in action today hosting Altamont.

Neoga picked up two victories over Altamont in Monday evening action.

Neoga was a 38-27 winner in the seventh-grade game. Neoga held a 20-17 halftime lead then had a third quarter surge with a 14-2 run.

Benji Strobel led the way for the winners with 14 points whie Brody Strobel added 11.

Altamont was led by Houser with 13.

In the eighth-grade game, Neoga picked up a 38-26 win. Neoga stepped out to a 13-7 opening quarter lead and led 23-12 at halftime. Altamont played Neoga event in the second half but couldn't make up that first half run.

Grady Haarman led the way with 17 points while Garrett Ballinger added 14.

Altamont was led by Beccue with eight.
