PARIS -- Paris Mayo tallied two victories over Effingham in junior high girls basketball Monday.

In seventh-grade action, Mayo took a 23-2 first half lead and tallied a 38-12 victory.

Efifngham was led by Abby Johnson with six points.

In the eighth-grade game, Paris Mayo held Effingham scoresless through the first three quarters to lead 27-0 going into the final quarter.

Effingham tallied five points led by Nora Cekander with four.

At Dieterich

Dieterich and Effingham St. Anthony split victories Monday.

Dieterich won the seventh-grade game, edging the Bullpups, 12-11. The two teams were tied at 6-6 at halftime before Dieterich pulled ahead 11-9 going into the final quarter.

Lexie Funneman and Violet Iffert scored four points each for Dieterich.

St. Anthony was led by Bella Schultz with four points.

In eighth-grade play, St. Anthony claimed a 27-14 win. The Bullpups held a 7-2 halftime lead and had a 20-12 second half.

Carly Budde led the way with eight points while Sydney Stephens added six.

Dieterich was led by Allison Boerngen with 10.

At Beecher City

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City handed Mulberry Grove two losses in action Monday,

The seventh-grade contest went to the Bobcats 23-10. They held a 9-4 halftime lead then had a 10-2 third quarter run.

Elaina Thompson led the way with seven points. CHBS improved to 7-3.

In eighth-grade action, CHBC was a 26-11 winner. CHBC held a 10-6 halftime lead and had a 16-5 second half run.

Allison Shields led with 10 points as the team improved to 7-3.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis and Sigel St. Michael each picked up a victory Monday evening.

The Wooden Shoes ran out to a 10-3 opening quarter lead in seventh-grade play and won 45-19.

Maggie Drees scored 12 and Lexi Hoene eight for the winners who improve to 9-0.

In eighth-grade play, the Sharpshooters scored a 23-13 victory. St. Michael broke a 2-2 opening quarter tie with a 6-2 second period and outscored the Shoes 15-9 in the second half.

Bueker and Ordner led the way for the winners with eight each.

T-town was led by Taylor McMahon with four points as the Shoes fell to 6-3.
