Hart, Knicks Agree To Extend Deadline

Josh Hart and the New York Knicks have agreed to extend a midnight ET deadline on Saturday for his $12.9 million player option until Thursday.

Hart, a priority to retain on a new deal, could opt in and extend off that salary number for next season or decline the option and become an unrestricted free agent eligible to sign a new deal with the Knicks or another team.

 

Mercury Head Coach Fired

The Phoenix Mercury have fired head coach Vanessa Nygaard after a league-worst 2-10 start to the season.

Assistant coach Nikki Blue will serve as the team's interim head coach for the rest of the season. The move comes a day after a 97-74 loss to the rebuilding Seattle Storm, a game that saw both Brittney Griner and Diana Taurasi return from three-game injury absences.
