T-town Sixth-Grade Girls Team Has Success

The parents of the Teutopolis sixth-grade girls basketball team would like to congratulate the players and their coaches on two very successful basketball seasons. This group of girls had a combined record of 54-7, which included a total of eight first place finishes and two second place finishes in various tournaments throughout the state of Illinois.

Members of the Teutopolis sixth-grade girls basketball team are Jolie Deters, Stella Deters, Maggie Dreas, Lexi Hoene, Lily Kreke, Grace Martin, Bella Niebrugge, Tinley Niebrugge, Claire Probst, Faith Ruholl, Lily Tegeler and Riley Worman. 

In their fifth-grade 2021-2022 season, this team finished with a record of 30-3, which included four first place finishes at tournaments in Flora, Mount Zion, Decatur, and Troy, as well as two second place finishes at Breese and the Illinois Middle School State Championship.  

In their sixth-grade 2022-2023 season, this team finished with a record of 24-4, which included four first place championship wins at Carlinville, Troy and Breese and the Illinois Middle School State Championship, which took place last weekend March 17-19.  These girls had a 4-0 record in the Middle School State tournament to receive championship trophy and medal.

The parents would like to give a big shout out and thank you to the coaches, Bill Martin and Jason Niebrugge, for their time, support, and patience.
