Area Players Earn AP Boys Basketball All-State Honors

Several area players earned AP Boys Basketball All-State honors for Class 1A and Class 2A.

Teutopolis High School's Caleb Siemer was named to the Second Team in Class 2A. The 6-foot-6 senior was a forward/center for the Wooden Shoes who finished third in the Class 2A State Tournament.

Named to the First Team were Ty Pence (St. Joseph-Ogden), Cole Certa (Bloomington Central Catholic), Gianni Cobb (Chicago Perspectives-Leadership), Dylan Bazzell (Fairbury Prairie Central) and Grady Thompson (Princeton).

Other players named to the Second Team were Jase Whiteman (Rockridge), Walt Hill (Rockford Lutheran), Jahei Savage (Chicago Phillips) and JaKeem Cole (Chicago Perspectives-Leadership).

In Class 1A, area players earned Honorable Mention. Those included Logan Fleener (North Clay, 6-foot-2 senior, guard), Aidan Dodson (South Central, 5-foot-10, senior, guard), Mason Robinson (Altamont, 6-foot-3, senior, guard/forward), Avery Jahraus (Altamont, 6-foot-2, senior, guard) and Austin Wittenberg (Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, 6-foot-3, senior, guard).

Named to the First Team were David Douglas (Yorkville Christian), Roderic Gatewood (Mounds Meridian),  Danny Stephens (Augusta Southeastern), Tyler Franklin (Cobden) and Jakson Baber (Bloomington Cornerstone Christian).

Named to the Second Team were Hank Alvey (Glasford Illini Bluffs), Kayden Augustine (Waterloo Gibault Catholic), Thomas Hereau (Scales Mound), Jordan Quinn (Tuscola) and Baylen Damhoff (Fulton).
