The Indians edged out to a 13-11 opening quarter lead behind Avery Jahraus and Eric Kollman's four points each. The Bulldogs's Brock Fearday tallied five.
But, Altamont got on a 13-5 second quarter roll with six players scoring. The Bulldogs could muster only one basket and three free throws and trailed 26-16.
Both teams opened the scoring up in the third period as Altamont had a 26-19 run. Avery Jahraus hit three trifectas and one free throw for 10 points while Mason Robinson also connected from three-point range with two and had two free throws for eight.
Collin Westendorf led the Bulldogs with seven points in the period.
St. Anthony had a slight 20-19 final period edge. Westendorf added eight points to his total while Ryan Schmidt scored six.
Robinson led the way in the final period with seven points and Dillam Elam added six.
Avery Jahraus tallied 20 points to lead Altamont on six field goals, three of those three-pointers, and five of seven at the line. Robinson added 15 and Kollmann 10.
St. Anthony was led by Westendorf with 18 on six field goals and six of eight at the line. Schmidt added 13 behind nine of 10 at the line.
It was a foul-riddled contest as Altamont connected on 23 of 30 from the line whlie St. Anthony finished with 20 of 25 for a grand total of 43 of 55 free throws.
Altamont, ranked second in the Class 1A boys state poll, is now a perfect 7-0 in the National Trail Conference and 24-4 overall.
In the junior varsity contest, Altamont was a 60-53 winner. Aden McManaway led with 16 while Eli Miller added 15 for Altamont. St. Anthony was led by Brady Hatton and Will Fearday with 13 each and Henry Brent with 11.

At Mattoon
James Niebrugge led the way with 19 points as Teutopolis captured a 61-45 win over Mattoon Tuesday evening.
Niebrugge hit eight field goals, one a three-pointer, and was two of two at the line. He got the Wooden Shoes started in the right direction, scoring five points in the opening quarter 14-10 run.
Mattoon came back with an 11-9 second period to pull within 23-21 at halftime.
But the Shoes went on a run in the third quarter as Caleb Siemer hit for eight points and Brendan Niebrugge and James Niebrugge scored five each. T-town led 43-33 going into the final quarter.
In that final period, T-town kept the momentum with an 18-12 lead.
Along with Ja. Niebrugge scoring in double figures, T-town's B. Niebrugge finished with 13 points.
T-town improved to 22-7 on the season.

At Beecher City
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City celebrated Senior Night with a 58-46 win over Sandoval Tuesday.
"This was a huge win for us on Senior Night," said CHBC Coach Tanner Thompson. "The boys played well. Sandoval did take a one point lead late in the third quarter but we turned up the defense and a one-handed dunk from Clayton Wojcik got the momentum up and we pulled away.
Sandoval held a 10-7 opening quarter lead but the Bobcats came roaring back with a 19-8 second period run to lead 26-18 at halftime. Wojcik scored six points in that run.
The Blackhawks then had a 17-10 third quarter to pull within 36-35.
But CHBC's Wojcik nailed eight points in the final period while Gage Lorton and AJ Radloff added six each for the winning margin.
Wojcik finished with 19 on eight field goals, two from three-point range, and one of one at the line. Radloff tallied 10 points.

Dieterich easily handled Woodlawn, 52-29 in Tuesday evening action.
The Movin' Maroons moved into a 10-4 opening quarter lead behind a three-pointer by Lucas Westendorf and a field goal and free throw from Caleb Gephart.
The lead went to a 27-8 at halftime as Cole Will hit two three-pointers and two free throws for eight in the quarter.
Dieterich continued with a 9-7 third quarter and finished out with a 16-14 final period.
Gephart scored 18 points on seven field goals, one a three-pointer, and was three of four at the line. Westendorf added 14.

South Central improved to 21-9 on the season by trouncing Oblnog/Palestine/Hutsonville, 68-11 Tuesday evening.
The Cougars ripped out to a 20-0 opening quarter lead as Aidan Dodson connected on five baskets and a free throw for 12 points while Rahkeim Anderson scored eight.
South Central continued on with a 21-8 second period run to lead 41-8 at halftime. Ethan Watwood knocked in a couple of three-pointers while five other players scored.
The Cougars finished out with a 27-3 second half.
Dodson tallied 20 points on nine field goals and one of one at the line while Anderson added 13.
Dodson now holds the single season scoring record of 684 points, passing Derek Storck with 681.

Cumberland fell to Argenta-Oreana by one point, 60-59, in Tuesday evening play.
The Pirates held a 16-14 opening quarter lead as Gavin Hendrix scored eight and Trevin Magee six.
But Argenta-Oreana came back with a 19-12 second period to lead 33-28 at halftime. The Bombers then had a slight 13-10 third quarter to lead 46-38.
But here came the Pirates. Cumberland put on a rally as Hendrix connected for three baskets and was four of four at the line, Jaxon Boldt added three baskets and a free throw and Magee connected on three of four free throws and Blake McMechan one of two at the line. But the rally ended with a one-point loss.
Hendrix finished with 29 points on 11 field goals and six of seven at the line. He hit one three-pointer. Magee tallied 12.

St. Elmo/Brownstown fell to Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran, 76-54 Tuesday.
CORL took an 18-10 opening quarter lead and led 43-21 at halftime. The winners finished hitting 58 percent from three-point range and 42 percent for the game. They also hit 57 percent from the free throw line with eight of 14.
St. Elmo/Brownstown was led y Jarrett Pasley with 22 points on seven field goals, three of those trifectas, and five of six at the line. Caleb Campbell added 14.
SEB could hit only 37 percent from the field, 25 percent from three-point range but were 14 of 18 at the free throw line for 77 percent.
CORL led in offensive rebounds by a 17-8 count and had nine steals in the game.
BSE finished with 15 turnovers compared to 10 for CORL.

The Warriors stepped out to a 19-10 opening quarter lead and led 26-15 at halftime. Then in the second half, Tuscola took off with a 32-19 run.
Parker James led Tuscola with 18 points while Chris Boyd added 11. Two players were at nine each.
Neoga was led by Quintin Richards with 11 points on four field goals, three from three-point range, and Brady Reynolds with 10.

The Eagles took a 16-11 opening quarter lead but the two teams were tied at 20-20 at halftime. Casey-Westfield then moved into a 31-26 lead going into the final period. Newton came back with an 8-5 run only to fall short.
Dylan Gier led the way for Newton with 10 points on four field goals and two of two at the line.
Casey-Westfield was led by Jackson Parcel with 12.
Newton finishes regular season play with a 19-11 record and will compete in the Lawrenceville Regional February 22.
