CHBC, North Clay Girls Pick Up Victories

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City handed Brownstown/St. Elmo a 57-49 loss in girls basketball Wednesday.

BSE edged out to a 9-7 opening quarter lead and led 26-15 at halftime.

CHBC then had a 19-11 third quarter run to pull within 37-34.

Then in the final period, CHBC had a 23-12 surge to nab the victory.

Four players hit double digits for the Bobcats. Macee Rodman led the way with 19 points on seven field goals that included four three-pointers and was one of four at the line. Gracie Heckert added 15, Mady Wojcik 11 and Ruby Stuckemeyer 10.

Wojick pulled down 10 rebounds while Stuckemeyer had eight. Heckert led in steals with four and assists with four along with Stuckemeyer who also had four assists. Wojcik had three steals.

CHBC improved to 18-10 on the season.

BSE was led by Avery Myers with 11 points on four field goals, three of those from triecta land. Lexi Seabaugh tallied 10.

CHBC also claimed the junior varsity contest, 39-30. Karlee Smith and Madison Dawson had 11 points each for CHBC. BSE was led by Williams with 14.

At Brownstown

At Louisville

The North Clay (Louisville) High School girls basketball team came out a winner over Lawrenceville Wednesday.

The Cardinals won 56-35 and improved to 18-10 on the season.

North Clay ended regular season play and will now host a Class 1A Regional Saturday and face Altamont at 7 p.m. In the opener, Dieterich takes on South Central at 6.
