CHARLESTON -- Effingham High School evened its Apollo Conference record at 5-5 on the season with a 65-10 win over Charleston Tuesday evening.

The Hearts ripped out to a 24-2 opening quarter lead as Bria Beals connected on three baskets and two free throws for eight in the quarter and Ella Niebrugge hit a three-pointer, a regular basket and a free throw for six.

The Hearts continued on with a 19-0 second period to lead 43-2 at halftime. Seven players scored for EHS in the quarter.

EHS finished with a 22-8 second half.

Eleven players scored in the contest for the Hearts led by Niebrugge with 10 on four field goals and one of two at the line, and Beals with 10 on four field goals and two of ttwo at the line.

The Hearts stand at 18-9 on the season.

At Altamont

Teutopolis came calling at Altamont and came home with a 59-36 victory Tuesday.

The Wooden Shoes' Kaylee Niebrugge led the way in the opening quarter connecting on three baskets and five of five at the line for 11 points. Emily Konkel added a three-pointer and a regular basket for five.

Altamont came back with a 14-12 second period edge as Kaylee Lurkins contributed six points. The Shoes had a 31-21 halftime lead.

T-town then had a 14-7 third quarter and outscored the Indians 14-8 in the final period.

Niebrugge finished with 17 points on five field goals and seven of nine at the line. She is 27 points away from reaching the 1,000 point total in her career at Teutopolis.

Summer Wall led in rebounds with three while Niebrugge had five steals.

Thirteen players scored for Teutopolis in the contest.

The Wooden Shoes will be back in action Friday at Bloomington Central Catholic.

Altamont was led by Lurkins with 10 points on five field goals.

At Dieterich

Robinson took the early lead and finished out with a 75-48 non-conference victory over Dieterich Tuesday.

Robinson held a 17-12 opening quarter lead and led 37-27 at halftime. Robinson then got on a third quarter roll with a 24-7 run and led 61-34 going into the final quarter.

Katelyn Jones led the winners with 20 points while Marisa Zane added 18, Elizabeth Shea 16 and Alexia Zane 14.

Dieterich was led by Cortney Brummer with 16 points on seven field goals, one a three-pointer, and one of four at the line. Also in double figures was Miley Britton with 12.

At Tuscola

Tuscola tallied a 46-22 non-conference win over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Tuesday evening.

Tuscola took a 20-4 opening quarter lead as three players connected on four three-pointers. The Warriors held a 25-8 halftime lead.

Windsor/Stew-Stras trailed 37-16 going into the final period. Ella Kinkelaar led in the third period with seven of the eight points.

Tuscola finished out with a 9-6 final quarter. The Warriors connected on seven three-pointers led by E. Boyer with three.

Niebrugge was the lone WSS player in double figures with 11 on five field goals that included one three-pointer.
