Class 8-1A Hutsonville Regional
Newton St. Thomas picked up a victory in the Class 8-1A Hutsonville Regional.
St. Thomas downed Kansas in the second game of the evening, 46-37.
In the opener, Mattoon St. John's ended North Clay's season with a 43-33 win.
North Clay finished its season with a 9-12 record.
St. Thomas will now take on Mattoon St. John's at 6:30 p.m. tonight for the regional championship and a berth in the Hume Shiloh Sectional.
Class 8-2A Stewardson-Strasburg Regional
Both area teams were beaten Tuesday evening in the Stew-Stras Regional.
Nokomis claimed a 49-41 victory over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in the opener.
In the second game, Assumption Central A&M downed Stewardson-Strasburg, 43-39.
Nokomis and Assumption Central A&M will meet tonight for the regional championship at 6. The winner advances to the Casey-Westfield Sectional.
Class 8-2A Effingham St. Anthony Regional
St. Anthony will be playing for the regional championship after picking up a victory Tuesday evening.
The Bullpups defeated Paris Crestwood in the second game of the evening, 37-26.
In the opener, Casey-Westfield won over Dieterich, 36-23.
St. Anthony and Casey-Westfield will meet for the regional title Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
Class 8-3A Teutopolis Regional
Teutopolis started slow but put on a scoring seminar over the next three quarters to hand Tuscola a 58-26 loss Tuesday.
The Wooden Shoes edged out to an 8-5 opening quarter lead but went on a tear with a 13-3 second period to lead 21-8 at halftime.
T-town then had a 20-11 third quarter and a 17-7 final period.
Ross Bloemer led the way with 15 points while Jake Kocher added 10.
In the second game, Macon Meridian won over Shelbyville Moulton, 28-17.
T-town will now face Macon Meridian at 6 p.m. for the championship Thursday.
