Teutopolis defeated Effingham 62-35 in boys freshman/sophomore basketball action Saturday.

The Wooden Shoes and Hearts were tied at 10-10 after the opening quarter. T-town moved ahead 20-18 at halftime and then went on a 26-7 third quarter run that sealed the victory.

All 15 players scored for the Shoes. Carter Hoene and Gavin Buening led the way with nine points each.

Effingham was led by Meltaburger with eight.
