TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis High School celebrated senior night with a 53-35 victory over Effingham in girls basketball action Friday evening.

The Wooden Shoes honored seven senior basketball players and two managers in between the junior varsity and varsity games.

Senior players are Kaylee Niebrugge, Emily Konkel, Courtney Gibson, Joleen Deters, Estella Mette and Taylor Bueker.

The two teams started slow as the Wooden Shoes took a 9-6 opening quarter lead. T-town hit only four of 14 shots while the Hearts were two of 12.

Kaylee Niebrugge led the way for T-town with seven points.

The only two baskets for the Hearts were three-pointers by Madison Mapes and Ella Niebrugge.
