NOKOMIS -- Altamont and Nokomis squared off for the championship of the Class 7-2A Nokomis Boys Basketball Regional Thursday evening.

Nokomis came out the winner by a 42-6 count.

Nokomis now advances to face Dieterich at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the St. Elmo Sectional. Nokomis comes in with a 14-13 record while Dieterich stands at 22-2.

 

Class 7-3A Sullivan Regional

Teutopolis won the championship of the Sullivan Regional Thursday.

The Wooden Shoes trailed Tuscola 9-7 after the opening quarter and 18-15 at halftime.

T-town then came back with a 13-9 third quarter to pull ahead 28-27 and then had a 10-4 run for the victory

Jake Probst hit four three-pointers in the contest and finished with 21 points. Dylan Horn added nine points and pulled down seven rebounds while Probst had six rebounds. Payne Davidson led in assists with five. Probst had six steals and Eric Weidner and Horn had five each. T-town forced 30 turnovers while only turned over the ball 13 times.

T-town improved to 25-5 and will now face Red Hill (Bridgeport) with a 17-3 record at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Paris Mayo Sectional.

At Louisville

North Clay's fifth-sixth grade squad beat Windsor Thursday.

In fifth-grade action, North Clay won 24-10.

In the sixth-grade game, North Clay was the winner, 36-31.
