TAYLORVILLE -- Effingham and Taylorville split freshman/sophomore boys basketball victories Monday evening.

The Hearts won the A contest, 47-32. EHS took a 14-8 opening quarter lead and led 24-15 at halftime.

Gordon scored 20 points for the Hearts while Hayes added seven.

In the B game, Taylorville edged the Hearts 20-19 in two quarters of play.

EHS was led by Gilbert with nine points.
