Newton Falls In LIC Consy Title Game, Highland, LPC Tourney Scores

Marshall edged out to a 13-10 opening quarter lead and led 25-19 at halftime.
The Eagles came back with a 14-12 third quarter to pull within 37-33 going into the final period. But Marshall had an 18-11 run for the seven-point win.
Leading Newton were Lilly Kessler and Camryn Martin with 12 points each while while Karasyn Martin finished with 11.
Kessler, C. Martin and Addy O'Dell led in rebounds with five each. Elley Bennett had five assists. K. Martin led in steals with four.
Newton falls to 10-13 on the season and will be back in action Saturday hosting Vincennes Rivet at 10 a.m.
In the other Wednesday contest, Casey-Westfield beat Lawrenceville, 57-36 for seventh place.
Tonight's games feature Richland County against Mount Carmel at 6 p.m. for third place and Paris and Robinson squaring off for the championship at 7:30.

Highland Tournament
Three games were contested at the Highland Tournament Wednesday.
In winner bracket play, Alton defeated Breese Mater Dei, 45-34 and advances to the championship game.
In consolation action, Collinsville won over Waterloo, 56-44 and Nashville edged Taylorville, 51-49.
Tonight's games feature Okawville against O'Fallon at 8 p.m. in the winner bracket to see who advances to the championship contest scheduled for Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The loser goes into the third place game at 1 p.m. Saturday against Breese Mater Dei.
In consolation bracket play, Teutopolis faces Highland at 5 p.m. and Breese Central takes on Bethalto Civic Memorial at 6:30 for the right to advance to the fifth place contest Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
Lincoln Prairie Conference Tournament
In Wednesday night's consolation bracket, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond defeated Decatur LSA 63-43 and Arcola won over Argenta-Oreana 61-12.
The winners of those two games play for the consy championship Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The losers drop into the seventh place game at 1 p.m.
Tonight's games feature Tri-County against Cumberland at 6 and Okaw Valley taking on Cerro Gordo-Bement at 7:30 in winner bracket play.
The winners will advance to the championship game Saturday at 5:30 p.m. while the losers will play for third place at 4 p.m.
