North Clay Improves to 13-5, T-town, Neoga, CHBC Drop Losses

WOODLAWN -- North Clay (Louisville) ran out to a 23-7 opening quarter lead and then held off Woodlawn for a 64-56 non-conference boys basketball victory Saturday.

The Cardinals held a 39-15 halftime lead. Woodlawn came back with a 22-9 third quarter to pull within 48-37 and had a 19-16 final quarter.

Three players hit double digits for the Cardinals. Logan Fleener led the way with 26 points on nine field goals and eight of nine at the line. Alex Boose chipped in with 15 and Levi Smith added 11.

The Cardinals connected on seven three-pointers that included three from Boose and two from Cody Zimdars.

In the junior varsity contest, North Clay was a 54-44 winner. The Cardinals were led by Jesse Weidner with 13 points.

North Clay improved to 13-5 on the season.

At Madison

Teutopolis fell to Madison by a 50-43 score Saturday.

Madison took off to a 12-6 opening quarter lead and led 22-15. The Shoes couldn't get on the scoring track as Madison had a 16-14 third quarter. T-town finally had a 14-12 final period.

Caleb Siemer led the way for the Shoes with 17 points on six field goals and five free throws. He was the lone player in double figures. Garrett Gaddis added nine.

T-town drops to 14-4 on the season.

Okaw Valley came calling and picked up a 54-47 win over Neoga Saturday.

Okaw Valley edged out to an 11-9 opening quarter lead. Neoga came back with a 14-11 second period to lead 23-22 at halftime.

The Indians then fell behind 36-33 going into the final quarter where Okaw Valley had an 18-14 run.

Two players hit double digits for Neoga. Quintin Richards led with 16 points while Trey Sheehan added 15.

The Rams raced out to a 27-11 opening quarter lead and led 43-12 at halftime.

CHBC was led by AJ  Radloff with 12 points on five field goals and two of two at the line.
