BSE Hands Dieterich 55-50 Girls Basketball Loss

Brownstown/St. Elmo took the early lead and never relinquished it in a 55-50 victory over Dieterich as two National Trail Conference teams collided Wednesday evening in girls basketball.

BSE edged out to a 17-10 opening quarter lead as Lexi Seabaugh scored six points. Cortney Brummer led the Movin' Maroons with eight points.

BSE had a slight 10-8 second quarter edge to lead 27-22 at halftime for a five point margin.

BSE continued with an 18-13 third quarter as five players scored and led 45-35 going into the final period.

Dieterich came back with a 15-10 run as Brummer connected for six points and Miley Britton five but the Maroons couldn't get over the first half run by BSE.

Laney Baldrige led the way for BSE with 18 points on seven field goals and four of four at the line. Seabaugh tallied 14 and Alice Turco chipped in with nine.

Dieterich was led by Britton with 17 and Brummer with 14.

Dieterich edged BSE 27-26 to win the junior varsity contest. Addison MIller led the winners with 13 points. BSE was led by Williams with 10
