Hawks Hire Budenholzer As Head Coach
(Atlanta, GA) -- Mike Budenholzer is in place as the new head coach of the Atlanta Hawks. The longtime San Antonio Spurs assistant was formally introduced Wednesday. He says he feels ready for the job after working so long with Gregg Popovich.
Budenholzer replaces Larry Drew after three seasons, but will stay on with the Spurs through the NBA Finals. The Hawks went 44-38 this season, but lost in the first round of the playoffs to Indiana.
Bobcats Name Clifford Head Coach
(Charlotte, NC) -- Steve Clifford is the new head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats. He becomes the sixth head coach in team history, replacing the fired Mike Dunlap. The Bobcats had the second-worst record in the league this season at 21-and-61. This is the first NBA head coaching job for Clifford after 13 years as an assistant.
