Altamont High School zipped out to an 18-6 opening quarter lead and never looked back in a 60-33 non-conference boys basketball victory over Central A&M Tuesday evening.

Eric Kollmann knocked in two baskets and two free throws for six points while Mason Robinson and Logan Cornett had a three-pointer and a regular basket each for five points.

The lead went to 34-12 at halftime and 55-17 in the third quarter. Avery Jahraus scored seven points in the second period and 11 in the third quarter. He finished with a team-leading 18 on seven baskets that included four three-pointers.

Also in double figures were Robinson with 15 and Kollmann with 10. The Indians finished with eight three-pointers in the contest and were a perfect four of four at the line.

Altamont is now 14-3 on the season.

The Indians won the junior varsity game, 55-24.

At Windsor

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg edged South Central 52-50 in National Trail Conference play Tuesday.

The Cougars took a 9-7 opening quarter lead behind three trifectas, two by Ethan Watwood and one by Rahkeim Anderson. But Windsor/Stew-Stras came back to tie the score at 20-20 at haltime. Austin Wittenberg scored nine of those points.

The Hatchets moved ahead 39-37 going into the final quarter. Jackson Gurgel nailed four three-pointers in the quarter for 12 of hs team's 19 points.

Windsor/Stew-Stras held that two-point lead as both teams scored 13 in the final quarter.

Anthony Buonaura scored seven points in the final period for the Cougars but Windsor/Stew-Stras hit their free throws with six of seven

A. Wittenberg led the way with 20 points on eight field goals, three trifectas, and one of two at the line. Also in double figures was Gurgel with 14 on the four three-pointers and two of two at the line. The Hatchets connected on eight three-pointers.

South Central was led by Watwood with 18 points on seven field goals, four from three-point range. Aidan Dodson added 13 and Buonaura 12.

South Central won the junior varsity contest and also claimed the freshman/sophomore game.

At Louisville

Things looked gloomy for North Clay (Louisville) after the first half. The Cardinals had edged ahead after the opening quarter by a point. But Lawrenceville came roaring back with a 26-17 second period to lead 37-29 at halftime.

But, not to worry. The Cardinals went on a 26-15 third quarter run and finished with a 15-9 final quarter for the 70-61 victory.

Cody Zimdars scored 22 for the Cardinals on nine field goals, four of those three-pointers. Logan Fleener chipped in with 18 and Alex Boose added 17.

The Cardinals are now 12-4 on the season. Lawrenceville dropped to 16-3.

North Clay also nabbed the junior varsity contest, 58-41. Jesse Weidner scored 28 for the winners while Andrew Casolari and Mason Byers scored 10 each.

At Louisville

At St. Joseph

St. Joseph-Ogden played host to Teutopolis and sent the Wooden Shoes home with a 53-40 loss Tuesday evening.

The homestanders edged out to a 14-10 opening quarter lead and led by only two points, 26-24 at halftime.

St. Joseph-Ogden had an 11-9 third quarter to lead 37-33 then finished strong with a 16-7 final period.

Teutopolis was led by Caleb Siemer with 16 points on seven field goals, one a three-pointer. He was the lone Wooden Shoe in double figures. Jay Niebrugge added nine.

The Wooden Shoes dropped to 15-3 on the season.

Decatur LSA  ran off to a 22-10 opening quarter lead and went on for a 69-43 win over Cumberland Tuesday evening.

LSA led 40-26 at halftime and 55-33 going into the final quarter.

Cumberland was led by one player in double figures. Gavin Hendrix connected on 13 field goals and two of three at the line for 29 points. Maddox McElravy finished with eight.
