TEUTOPOLIS -- The Wooden Shoes edged out to a 14-13 opening quarter lead and held off a final quarter challenge to down Mount Vernon, 67-58 Wednesday evening.

Teutopolis led 28-21 at halftime and 44-32 going into the final quarter. The Rams mounted a comeback but fell way short.

Brendan Niebrugge led the way with 13 points while Joey Niebrugge added 11. Garrett Gaddis finished with nine.

Joey Nierugge led in rebounds with 13 while Caleb Siemer added 10 and B. Niebrugge nine.

Navontae Nesbit Jr. led the Rams with 33 points.

At Farina

Aidan Dodson got the Cougars rolling in the first quarter against Martinsville by scoring 13 points and South Central went on for a 60-30 victory Wednesday.

Dodson hit four baskets, two from regular range, and two three-pointers and was three of four at the line. He continued on with four of four free throws and two baskets in the second quarter as the Cougars led 39-15 at halftime.

Dodson finished with 26 points as he hit seven field goals, four from three-point range, and was eight of 10 at the line.

Also in double figures was Ethan Watwood with 12 points on four field goals, two three-pointers, and two of two at the line. The Cougars hit 19 of 22 free throws.

South Central also claimed the junior varsity contest.
