Neoga Beats BSE, Paris Downs T-town, N.C. Wins In Girls Basketball

NEOGA -- Neoga High School remained unbeaten with a 49-42 victory over Brownstown/St. Elmo as two National Trail Conference girls basketball teams clashed Monday evening.

The Indians moved their perfect record to 13-0.

Two players scored in double figures for Neoga. Haylee Capbell led the way with 18 points on eight field goals and two of three at the line. Sydney Richards added 14 points on five field goals and three of seven at the line.

The Indians stepped out to a 14-4 opening quarter lead but Brownstown/St. Elmo came back with a 16-11 run to pull within 25-20 at halftime. The two teams played to a 12-12 third quarter and Neoga had a 12-10 final period.

Brownstown/St. Elmo was led by Lexi Seabaugh as the lone player in double figures with 10. Avery Myers added nine points.

Neoga also nabbed the junior varsity game, 19-15. Neoga was led by Gracie Eaton with seven points. BSE was led by Jaide Wilhour with five.

Neoga is back in action Wednesday traveling to Altamont.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis was the latest victirm for Paris as the Tigers picked up a 43-27 win Monday evening.

Paris edged out to an 8-7 opening quarter lead. The Tigers held T-town down to four points in the second quarter while putting together 12 points for a 20-11 halftime lead.

The Tigers continued to maintain control in the second half with an 8-7 third quarter and a 15-9 final period.

Paris had two players in double figures. Kendra Young led with 11 points while Trinity Tingley added 10.

The Wooden Shoes were led by Emily Konkel as the lone player in double figures with 12. Courtney Gibson pulled down five rebounds while Konkel had four. Konkel had one assist.

Paris improved to 12-0 while T-town dropped to 8-2.

North Clay (Louisville) captured a 48-24 victory over Casey-Westfield Monday evening.

The Cardinals improved to 7-4 with the win.

North Clay also won the junior varsity game, 19-14.
