Junior High Boys Basketball -- Dec. 15

The Mustangs edged Olney, 32-30 in the seventh-grade contest. Effingham led 20-13 at halftime. Olney came back only to fall shorrt in the second half.

Pals led the way for Effingham with 15 points while Hayes chipped in with nine. Effingham is now 9-4 on the season.

In eighth-grade action, Olney zipped out to a 20-8 opening quarter lead and went on for a 59-38 win over the Mustangs.

Four players hit double figures for Olney.

Effingham was led by Braddy and Kistler with seven points each.

At Kinmundy

South Central defeated North Clay (Louisville) in both seventh- and eighth-grade play Thursday.

In the seventh-grade game, South Central took a 13-3 opening quarter lead and went on for a 34-18 victory.

Cartright led in scoring for the winners with 15 while Hoover added seven.

North Clay was led by Adair and Lewis with six points each.

In eighth-grade play, South Central was a 51-31 winner over North Clay.

Westin Neilson scored 26 points while Sebastian Kruger added 11 for the winners.

South Central was led by Griffy with 18 points.
