South Central Beats Oblong In Girls Basketball

OBLONG -- South Central's Taegan Webster got the Cougars off in the right direction, scoring 10 opening quarter points and the squad went on for a 54-50 win over Oblong Wednesday evening.

The Cougars had a 16-10 opening quarter run behind Webster's points. Oblong came back with an 18-15 second period to pull within 31-28 at halftime. 

Oblong continued its run with a 16-15 third quarter and stood two points back of South Central going into the final quarter. In the third period, Brooklyn Garrett took over the scoring duties with nine points.

South Central then had an 8-6 final run as Webster connected for three points and Garrett knocked in three of four free throws.

Garrett finished with 21 to lead the Cougars while Webster and Brooke Cowger had 14 each.
