Neoga, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Pick Up Girls Basketball Wins

Neoga High School remained unbeaten on the season with a 54-36 win over Tri-County in girls basketball Tuesday evening.

The Indians edged out to a 12-11 opening quarter lead then wrapped 16 point runs in the second and fourth quarters around a 10-10 third period.

Sydney Richards led the way with 20 points while Haylee Campbell added 15.

Neoga also captured the junior varsity game by a 45-25 score.

Neoga will return to action at Oblong Thursday.

At Decatur

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City trailed Decatur St. Teresa 20-16 at halftime but came roaring back with a 24-14 third quarter and went on for a 54-46 win Tuesday.

Gracie Heckert connected on five field goals that included two three-pointers and was seven of eight at the line for 19 points while Macee Rodman scored 13 on three field goals and seven of 13 at the line. Also in double figures was Ruby Stuckemeyer with 12.

Heckert also led in rebounds with eight along with Mady Wojcik with eight. Rodman pulled down seven. Stuckemeyer led in steals with three.

CHBC improved to 8-2 on the season.

In the junior varsity game, CHBC was a 33-11 winner and now sports a 2-3 record. Karlee Smith led with 14 points.
