The Mustangs claimed the seventh-grade game, 37-28. EJHS held a 13-8 halftime lead but led by only three points going into the final period. From there, Effingham had a 14-8 run.
Pals tallied 18 and Fox 10 for the winners who improve to 5-4.
In the eighth-grade game, Centralia captured a 46-12 win. Centralia held a 26-7 halftime lead.
Effingham was led by Niebrugge with five points.

At Flora
Effingham St. Anthony and Flora were both winners Monday evening.
The Bullpups picked up a 33-22 win to improve to 12-3 on the season.
St. Anthony led 16-6 at halftime and never looked back.
Conner Storm tallied 10 points while Cooper Sehy and Jonny Gannaway added eight each for the Bullpups.
In the eighth-grade contest, Flora ran off to a 22-14 halftime lead then had a 15-9 thrid quarter for a 44-28 victory.
G. Wilhour led St. Anthony with 17 points.

At Bridgeport
Jasper County and Red Hill (Bridgeport) split victories Monday.
Red Hill edged Jasper County, 35-34 in the seventh-grade game. Red Hill held a 16-14 halftime lead. Jasper County came back with a 14-6 third quarter to pull ahead 27-22. But Red Hill rallied for a 13-5 final period to pull out the win.
Chance Mulvey led Jasper County with 13 points as the seventh-grade suffered its first loss to drop to 10-1.
In eighth-grade action, Jasper County was an easy 38-12 winner.
Jasper County held a 29-8 halftime lead.
Hayden Mulvey led Jasper County with 13 points as the squad is now 4-9.
