Effingham and Dieterich split victories in junior high boys basketball competition Monday evening.

Dieterich was a 39-34 winner in the seventh-grade contest. The two teams were tied at 13-13 at halftime before Dieterich moved ahead with a 13-8 third quarter. Effingham could only play to a 13-13 final period.

Alex Schottman led Dieterich with 16 points while Bryce Bohnhoff added nine.

Effingham was led by Pals with 21 points and Fox with 12.

In eighth-grade play, Effingham edged Dieterich, 26-24.

The Mustangs held an 8-3 opening quarter lead and led 11-7 at halftime. Dieterich came roaring back with a 12-6 third quarter to pull ahead 19-17 going into the final period. But the Mustangs came back with six points from Braddy and a three-pointer by Kistler to claim the two-point win.

At St. Anthony

Effingham St. Anthony hosted Jasper County and split victories Monday evening.

Jasper County captured the seventh-grade game by a 36-35 count to remain unbeaten  at 7-0.

Chance Mulvey scored 13 and Maddox Horner 12 for the winners. 

St. Anthony was led by Gannaway with 16 and Sehy with 11.

St. Anthony won in eighth-grade competition, 47-27.

The Bullpups ran out to a 13-5 opening quarter lead and led 28-7 at halftime.

M. Waldhoff tallied 22 points while G. Looman added 10 for the Bullpups.

Jasper County was led by Logan Burgener with 12 and Henry Will with 10. Jasper County dropped to 3-7.

At St. Anthony

At Sigel

Teutopolis tallied two victories over Sigel St. Michael Monday evening.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade game handily, 43-4. T-town took a 17-0 opening quarter lead and led 28-1 at halftime.

Jake Probst led T-town with eight points.

Dittamore and Durdel led the Sharpshooters with two each.

In the eighth-grade game, T-town was a 48-21 winner.

The Shoes again took a big lead, 21-9 after the first quarter and led 31-9 at halftime.

Kendal Mette led the way with 25 points while Jake Kocher added nine.

St. Michael was led by Alex Mayer with nine and Brant Niebrugge with eight.

At Sigel

At Lousiville

North Clay (Louisville) and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City each picked up a victory Monday.

North Clay captured the seventh-grade game, 37-23.

In eighth-grade action, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City won, 39-32.

North Clay dropped to 3-4 in the National Trail Conference and 3-4 overall.
