TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis played host to Effingham St. Anthony and sent the Bullpups home with two losses Monday.

T-town was a 51-34 winner in the seventh-grade game. The Wooden Shoes whipped out to an 18-6 opening quarter lead.

Jake Probst led the way for the Shoes with 20 points while Keegan Swingler and Payne Davidson tallied eight each.

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town was a 21-11 leader at the half and tallied a 33-21 win.

Carson Cornell scored 10 while Teagan Pals added nine for the winners.

Wilhour scored 12 for St. Anthony.

At Effingham

Effingham had a wide winning margin in the seventh-grade contest and edged Robinson Nuttall in the eighth-grade game Monday evening.

In seventh-grade play, the Mustangs took a 24-0 opening quarter lead and went on for a 46-17 victory.

Fox tallied 18 for the winners while Hayes added eight. EJHS evened it's record at 2-2.

In the eighth-grade contest, Effingham won 30-28.

The Mustangs edged out to a 6-5 opening quarter lead and led 12-8 at halftime. Both teams tallied 13 in the third quarter and Robinson came back with a 7-5 edge in the final period but Effingham held on for the win.

Three players hit double digits. Braddy scored 13 while Dunlap added 12 and Gilmore 11. EJHS is now 1-3 while Robinson dropped to 3-2.

At Findlay

Stewardson-Strasburg scored two victories over Okaw Valley in Monday competition.

Stew-Stras edged out to a 5-4 opening quarter lead and led 7-6 at halftime. Okaw Valley came back with a 9-5 run in the third quarter but Stew-Stras knotted the score at 22-22 sending the contest into overtime. In the overtime period, Stew-Stras held Okaw Valley scoreless while putting in seven points for the 29-22 victory.

Manhart scored 14 for the winners who improve to 4-3.

In eighth-grade play, Stew-Stras ripped out to a 20-2 opening quarter lead and led 34-7 at halftime.

Bible led the way for the winners with 11 points while W. Vonderheide had nine and Morris eight. Stew-Stras is now 3-2 on the season and back in action Thursday hosting Sigel St. Michael.

At Louisville

North Clay (Louisville) tallied two wins over Effingham Sacred Heart Monday.

North Clay was a 37-23 winner in the seventh-grade game.

North Clay claimed the eighth-grade contest 52-31 to improve to 1-3. North Clay's next game will be Thursday against Windsor.

 

At Newton

Jasper County played host to Flora and split victories Monday evening.

Jasper County was a winner in the seventh-grade game 42-26. Jasper County held a 30-15 halftime lead then had a 6-1 third quarter run.

Ian Kessler led the way with nine points while Chance Mulvey added eight.

In eighth-grade play. Jasper County fell to Flora, 48-23. Flora had a 30-8 scoring run over the second and third quarters.

Hayden Mulvey led Jasper County with eight points. The eighth-grade squad fell to 3-2.
