Altamont Lutheran edged Dieterich 46-44 in overtime in seventh-grade play.
Dieterich held a 14-8 opening quarter lead and led 19-14 at halftime and 30-25 going into the fourth quarter. Altamont Lutheran came back with a 14-9 final period to knot the score at 39-39 and won the contest in overtime as McManaway connected on two baskets and a free throw and R. Stuemke had two free throws.
McManaway finished with 33 points on 11 field goals that included two three-pointers and nine of 15 at the line. Lurkins chipped in with nine.
Dieterich was led by Alex Schottman with 20 points and Ben Schottman with 14.
In eighth-grade action, Dieterich was a 62-40 winner. Dieterich took a 21-8 opening quarter lead and never looked back.
Gavin Meinhart led the way with 20 points on eight field goals and four of seven at the line while Ezra Cook chipped in with 14.
Altamont Lutheran was led by Bell with 15 and Miller with 13.

At Tower Hill
Stewardson-Strasburg fell to Sacred Heart in junior high boys basketball Tuesday.
Sacred Heart claimed a 29-14 victory in the seventh-grade contest. Sacred Heart led 15-11 at halftime then held Stew-Stras to three points in the second half.
Jones led Stew-Stras with seven points.
In the eighth-grade game, Sacred Heart had to go overtime before pulling out a 35-31 victory. The two teams played to a 6-6 opening quarter tie and Sacred Heart led 14-11 at halftime and 25-20 going into the final quarter. Stew-Stras then came back with an 9-4 run to knot the score at 29-29 sending the game into the overtime period where Sacred Heart had a 6-2 run.
Bible led Stew-Stras with 13 points.
The games were the season openers for Stew-Stras.

At Sullivan
Teutopolis tallied 40 or more points in both games to hand Sullivan losses Tuesday.
T-town was a 46-14 winner in the seventh-grade contest. The Wooden Shoes ripped out to a 29-10 halftime lead.
Jake Probst tallied 12 points to lead the winners.
In the eighth-grade matchup, T-town was a 40-22 winner. The Shoes led 21-9 at halftime.
Jake Kocher led eight players in scoring with eight points while Kendal Mette had seven.

At Altamont
Jasper County picked up two victories over Altamont in Tuesday evening action.
Jasper County held a 30-19 halftime lead and went on for a 31-22 second half for a 54-33 victory.
Maddox Homer tallied 28 points to lead the winners while Hayden Mulvey added 16. Jasper County is 2-0.
Altamont was led by Durbin with 12 and Beccue with 10.
In the eighth-grade contest, Jasper County was a 41-18 winner to improve to 2-0.
Jasper County held a 16-12 halftime lead and came back with a 25-13 second half.
Mulvey led the way with 19 points while Jacob Oldham added 10.
Altamont was led by Reardon with 12.
