Sigel St. Michael won the championship of the NTC Seventh-Grade Tournament.
DIETERICH -- Sigel St. Michael claimed the championship of the National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Girls Basketball Tournament Saturday.
The Sharpshooters defeated Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, 42-17.
St. Michael took a 15-3 opening quarter lead and led 30-6 at halftime.
Two players hit double digits in the victory. Kaelyn Ordner led with 11points while Nora Bueker added 10.
Windsor/Stew-Stras was led by Edie Wittenberg with nine points.
The third place contest went to North Clay (Louisville) over Altamont, 28-17.
Altamont moved into a 5-1 opening quarter lead but North Clay held a one-point lead at halftime, 9-8.
North Clay then opened the contest up with a 10-4 third period run and finished out with a 9-5 final quarter.
Mila Zink led the winners with nine points while Violet Price added eight.
Altamont was led by Reagan Kuenstler with 13.
The consolation championship went to South Central over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 31-10.
South Central's Baylee Brown scored eight of her team's 12 points in the opening quarter for 12-2 lead and tallied five of the nine in the third quarter.
Brown finished with 13 to lead the winners while Kennah Hiestand added eight.
CHBC was led by Carissa Wakefield with six.
In Friday action, South Central was a winner over Dieterich, 23-6 to move into the consolation championship.
Kennah Hiestand led with nine points while Baylee Brown added eight.
Dieterich was led by Ohnesorge, M. Niemerg and Stortzum with two points each.
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City then defeated Brownstown/St. Elmo, 23-8 to move into the consy championship.
CHBC stepped out to a 10-2 opening quarter lead and went on for the victory.
Ethel Stuckemeyer led the way with 10 points while Carissa Wakefield added six.
BSE was led by Savanah Mason with four.
