In the opening contest, Dieterich edged Neoga, 10-7.
The two teams played to a 2-2 opening quarter tie and Dieterich edged ahead 4-3 at halftime. Dieterich had a 4-2 final period for the win.
M. Niemerg led the way for Dieterich with three points. Neoga was led by M. Frankie with three points.
In the second contest, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City took control early with a 10-2 run and never looked back in a 32-10 win over Effingham Sacred Heart.
Ethel Stuckemeyer led the way for the winners with 12 points while Carissa Wakefield added eight.
The Shamrocks were led by Cora Bierman with five points.
North Clay (Louisville) tallied an 18-6 win over South Central.
North Clay held South Central scoreless through the first half for a 11-0 lead.
The winners were led by Milo Zink with seven points.
South Central was led by Kennah Hiestand with four points.
The tournament continues tonight as Sigel St. Michael faces Dieterich at 5:30, Altamont meets Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City at 6:45 and South Central and North Clay square off at 8. The tourney continues Thursday and will finish out with finals Saturday.

At Centralia
Effingham Junior High School captured two victories over Centralia Tuesday evening.
In the seventh-grade contest, Effingham was a 36-13 winner behind 10 points by Koenig.
The Mustangs stepped out to a 12-2 opening quarter lead and held Centralia scoreless in the second period to lead 18-2.
Along with Koenig's 10 points were eight each by Miller and Spicer.
The Mustangs took an eighth-grade win over host Centralia, 26-6.
The Mustangs held an 18-0 first half lead and never looked back.
Nine Effingham players scored in the game. Cailin Ohnesorge, Drew Weis, Macy Kirk and Melia Wendling scored four points each for the winners.

At Salem
Teutopolis claimed two wins over Salem Franklin Park Tuesday.
The Wooden Shoes ran off to a 14-0 opening quarter lead on Salem and won 42-17.
McMahon, S. Vahling, Probst and Koester tallied six points each for the Wooden Shoes who improve to 9-1 on the season.
In eighth-grade play, T-town was a 38-18 winner.
The Shoes led 24-4 at halftime and improved to 8-2 on the season.
Kylie Borries scored 11 and Jersey Gaddis nine for the Shoes.
