Nate Robinson Battling Kidney Failure

Longtime NBA fan favorite Nate Robinson announced he has privately been battling kidney failure for four years on Saturday.

The former NBA champion said in a statement, “I'm sharing this now because I want to be the voice for all those who are having trouble speaking about this illness and come together for a greater cause, our health.”

Robinson won the NBA Slam Dunk contest 3 times as a member of the New York Knicks back in 2006, 2009 and 2010.

 

Mutombo Undergoing Treatment

Dikembe Mutombo is undergoing treatment for a brain tumor, the NBA announced Saturday on behalf of Mutombo and his family.

According to the statement, the global ambassador for the NBA is “receiving the best care possible from a collaborative team of specialists and is in great spirits.”
Mutombo ranks second in NBA history for career blocks.
