Effingham St. Anthony and Pana Sacred Heart split junior high girls basketball wins Monday.

In the seventh-grade matchup, Pana Sacred Heart was a 49-5 winner. Phillips led St. Anthony with three points.

The Bullpups then claimed a 25-20 win in eighth-grade action. Pana Sacred Heart held a 12-10 first half lead. St. Anthony came back with an 8-4 third quarter and had a 7-4 final period.

Schultz led the way for St. Anthony with seven points.

In Saturday play against Marshall, the Bullpups fell in the seventh-grade game, 20-13. Stephens tallied seven for St. Anthony.

In eighth-grade competition, St. Anthony was a 21-13 winner. Frisbie scored six points to lead the Bullpups.

At Marshall

Teutopolis is still unbeaten in both seventh- and eighth-grade action after Monday evening play.

T-town won over Marshall 39-4 in the seventh-grade game. The Wooden Shoes held a 15-0 opening quarter lead. E. Willenborg, Kocher and McMahon scored six points each.

In the eighth-grade matchup, T-town trailed Marshall 6-4 after the opening quarter but led 11-10 at halftime then had a 20-11 second half.

Kylie Borries scored 13 and Elise Pals eight for the winners.

Both teams improve to 5-0 on the season.
