Taylorville edged the Mustangs, 24-21 in the seventh-grade game. Effingham held an 8-4 opening quarter lead but Taylorville moved ahead 14-13 at halftime then had a 10-8 second half.
Effingham was led by Cekander and Spicer withi six points each.
In the eighth-grade game, Taylorville won 40-18. Taylorville held a 25-8 halftime lead.
Effingham was led by Macy Kirk with seven points.

At St. Anthony
Effingham St. Anthony downed Charleston in both seventh- and eighth-grade action Thursday.
The Bullpups edged the visitors 12-11 in seventh-grade play.. Charleston held a 7-4 halftime lead. St. Anthony pulled within 11-9 going into the final quarter then outscored Charleston 3-0 to pull out the victory.
Stephens had nine points for the Bullpups.
In eighth-grade play, St. Anthony was a 23-19 winner. The Bullpups held a 15-13 halftime lead then had an 8-6 second half.
Denning and Lauritzen scored seven points each for St. Anthony.

At Teutopolis
Teuotpolis remained unbeaten in both seventh- and eighth-grade play with wins over Lawrenceville Thursday.
In the seventh-grade contest, T-town ripped out to a 21-1 halftime lead. The Wooden Shoes were led by Avery Probst and Summer Vahling with eight points each.
In eighth-grade play, T-town took a 19-2 opening quarter lead and led 29-6 at halftime.
Jersey Gaddis scored 13 and Kylie Borries and Gabby Tegeler had 10 each.
Both teams are now 4-0 on the season.

At Altamont
Altamont handed North Clay (Louisville) two losses Thursday.
Altamont was a winner in the seventh-grade game, 30-12 and also won the eighth-grade contest, 41-22.
