ALTAMONT -- Altamont captured both the seventh- and eighth-grade girls basketball wins over Effingham St. Anthony Monday.

Altamont was a 28-11 winner in seventh-grade play. Alwardt led the way for the winners with 10 points.

St. Anthony was led by Stephens with six.

In eighth-grade action, Altamont claimed a 26-20 victory. The score was tied at 12-12 at halftime. The Bullpups moved ahead 18-15 going into the final quarter but Altamont pulled out the victory with an 11-2 run.

Higgs tallied 11 points for the winners.

St. Anthony was led by Henning with eight points.
