Effingham St. Anthony and North Clay split seventh- and eighth-grade girls basketball victories Tuesday.

North Clay was a winner in the seventh-grade matchup, 25-12. North Clay held an 18-6 halftime lead. Pontious scored nine points and A. Phillips eight for the winners.

St. Anthony was led by Fearday and Phillips with six points each.

In the eighth-grade contest, St. Anthony stepped out to a 20-10 halftime lead and went on for a 33-19 victory.

Lauritzen led the Bullpups with 13 points and Denning had nine.

North Clay was led by Ruesken with seven points.
