Michigan State and Gonzaga will face off in a basketball game on the deck of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln on Veteran’s Day, November 11, with the game to be shown in prime time as part of ESPN’s Armed Forces Classic.

The carrier will be moored at Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado, across the bay from San Diego.

The first college basketball game on an active carrier took place on November 11, 2011, but there hasn’t been one since 2012. That’s because two of four games scheduled that fall weren’t played due to weather issues.
