Lebron James left the Los Angeles Lakers’ road trip early and returned home due to his ankle injury, the team announced Wednesday.

James hurt his ankle Sunday against the New Orleans Pelicans, and while he managed to finish the game, he said afterward that his ankle felt “horrible,” and he hasn’t played since.

James’ injury comes as the Lakers, who are currently in 11th in the Western Conference standings, are trying to make the playoffs with only a few regular-season games left.
