WNBA star Brittney Griner's detention by Russia has been extended until at least May 19, Russian media reported Thursday.

Griner, who’d been playing in the off-season in Russia, was detained at a Moscow airport in mid-February after authorities said vape cartridges containing cannabis oil were found in her luggage.

Meanwhile, ESPN reported U.S. consular officials have not been given access to Griner, and are insisting that it be provided.
